Rudrānām Śañkaraścāstni vitteśo yaksa-raksasāin
Vasūnam pāvakaścāsmi Meruh śikharinām-ahttm

23. And of the Rudras, I am Śañkara; of the Yaksas and Rāksasas, the Lord of wealth; and of the Vasus, I am Pāvaka; of the mountains, I am Meru.

And of the eleven Rudras'[1], I am Śañkara; of the Yaksas and Rāk$asas, the Lord of wealth, Kubera; and of the eight Vasus[2]-

I am Pāvaka, Agni; of the mountains, those that have peaks, I am Meru.

  1. The eleven Rudras are: Hara, Bahurapa, Tryambaka, Aparājita, Vrsākapi, Śambhu, Kapardi, Raivata, Mrgavyādha, Śarva, and KapāH. Harivañiiu I.III.31, 32). Of Itiusc, Sambhu is the ona referred to sis aañkara.
  2. The eight Vasus are: Dhruva, Dhara, Soma, Aha, Anila, Anala. Pratya?a. andPtabhāsa. (M.B.-Adi-lXSfl.18). Anala is Agni.
