Shri Sankara's Gita Bhashya
(Sri Sankaracharya's Commentary on the Gita)
CHAPTER -1
33. These very persons, for whose sake kingdom, enjoyments and comforts are desired by us, stand here arrayed in battle, renouncing (their) lives and RICHES— 34. teachers, fathers, sons; and in like manner, grand-fathers, maternal uncles, fathers-in-law, grand sons, brothers-in-law, and also other relations by marriage.
35. Madhusūdana![1] Though they should slay me, Ī do not wish to kill these (persons) even for the sovereignty of the three worlds: how much the less for the sake of an earthly kingdom ! |
