CHAPTER -1
26-28. Then Pārtha saw fathers (paternal uncles), grand-fathers, teachers, maternal uncles, brothers, sons, grandsons, as also companions, fathers-in-law, and friends as well, stationed there, in both armies. Perceiving all these kinsfolk[1] thus stationed, the son of rCuntī became dispirited, overpowered as he was by excessive compassion, and spoke thus—
28-29 O Krsna,[2] on seeing these kinsfolk come together eager "to fight, my limbs give way and my mouth goes dry; and a shiver passes through my body and my hair stands on end. |
