Commentary

Shri Rädhä addresses Kṛṣṇa as Mänada, one who gives honour (mäna) to his beloveds, or who breaks the contrary mood of indignant lovers. “O Kṛṣṇa, you eclipse the tail-feathers of a peacock with your own lustre. My black locks of hair are as charming and attractive as the whisk of Kämadeva’s flag. They came undone as we were making love. Please decorate them with flowers. May you become my braid, woven with flowers, and diffuse your fragrance.”
