Commentary

Expressing the terrible pain in the core of her heart, Rädhä says, “These rasaladen nights of the spring season embody the highest happiness, yet they are torturing me. Conversely, some fortunate young woman is tasting the rapture of playfully making love with Kṛṣṇa. He did not come here as promised because that seductress has bound him in the ropes of her love as he revels in amorous pastimes. How I must be lacking in pious activities. I am lamenting in the pain of separation and in the meantime, some other woman is feeling the happiness of passionate union with him.”

In the Viçvakoça dictionary vidhura is defined as vikalatä, deficiency.
