Dando damāyatam-asmi mtir-asmi jīgīsatām
Maunam caivāsmi guhyānām jñānām jñānavatām-aham

38. Of those that punish, I am the sceptre; of those who seek to conquer, I am the policy; and, also, of things secret, I am the silence; and the Knowledge of the Knowers am I.

Of punishers, those that chastise, I am the sceptre, which subdues the unrestrained[1]; of those who seek to conquer, I am the policy; and, also, of things secret, those which have to be guarded, I am the silence; and the Knowledge[2] of Knowers am I.
