CommentaryThis song reveals the definite plan of Rädhä’s ecstatic love. In the ultimate transformation of Rädhä’s prema, she wants to immerse herself entirely in Kṛṣṇa. She desires to become kåñëamaya – made of Kṛṣṇa – by the touch of his hands. Her heart is Kṛṣṇa’s and her clothes and ornaments are all Kṛṣṇa. Herein the depth of the realization of Rädhä’s prema turns into rasa and pours down like rain. Rädhä says, “O Yadu-nandana, be compassionate enough to decorate me. Be absorbed in empathy and become my ornaments.” From another perspective, the subject of this song is the eloquent speech of Shri Jayadeva. “As you will show compassion by decorating Rädhä, please show compassion by decorating my words.” Therefore, each verse can be interpreted as a specific reference to either Rädhä’s ornaments or Jayadeva’s words. This composition is the nectar of remembrance of Shri Hari’s lotus feet. Such nectar pacifies the furious fever of immorality in the age of Kali and destroys all sins. Simply remembering the nectar shower of Shri Jayadeva’s eloquent poetry bestows auspiciousness upon all. |
