shri-narada uvaca
ekada carayan vatsan
sa-ramo balakair harih
yamuna-nikaöe praptam
bakam daityam dadarsha ha[1]

Shri Narada said: One day, as He was herding the calves in the company of Balarama and the boys, Krishna saw a great duck demon by the Yamuna's shore.
