Pushtimarg

Eight Sections or the Gruhs

Pushtimarg is divided mainly into eight sections or the Gruhs. They are formed according to the eight main idols or the swaroops of pushtimarg and the seven sons of shri Gusaiji (son of mahaprabhuji). These eight gruhs are as follows-

  1. Shreenathji and Navneetpriyaji resides in the Pradhan or the main gruh at Nathdwara (Rajasthan) and is followed by all the Vallab balaks or the followers of pushtimarg.
  2. Mathuradhishji resides in Pratham or the first gruh of Shri Girdharji, the first son of gusaiji at Kota (Rajasthan).
  3. Vitthalnathji resides in the Dwitiya or the second gruh of Shri Govindji, the second son of gusaiji at Nathdwara (Rajasthan).
  4. Dwarkadhishji resides in Tritiya or the third gruh of Shri Balkrishnaji, the third son of gusaiji at Kankroli (Rajasthan).
  5. Gokulnathji resides in Chaturth or the fourth gruh of Shri Gokulnathji, the fourth son of gusaiji at Gokul (Uttar Pradesh).
  6. Gokulchandramaji resides in Pancham or the fifth gruh of Shri Raghunathji, the fifth son of gusaiji at Kamvan (Rajasthan).
  7. In Shashta or the sixth gruh of Shri Yadunathji, the sixth son of gusaiji resides three deities or swaroops of Balkrishnaji at Surat (Gujarat), Kalyanraiji at Vadodra (Gujarat), Mukundraiji at Kashi (Uttar Pradesh).
  8. Madanmohanji resides in Saptam or the seventh gruh of Shri Ghanshyamji, the seventh son of gusaiji at Kamvan (Rajasthan).

In pushtimarg the followers belong to the one of these eight gruhs and follow the prakar of that gruh from which they are, means it depends on the vallabhbalak from whom he may have taken the bramhsambandh that the balak belongs to which gruh.[3]
