How to get established in that equanimity?

He, who, with [inn understanding and no delusion, neither rejoices on obtaining what is pleasant nor feels perturbed on meeting with the unpleasant. such a knower of Brahma remains established in God.(19)

What are the stages to attain that state, O Lord?

He, who remains unattached to external enjoyments realizes the bliss in the self, then he having identified himself with Brahma. enjoys Eternal Bliss.(20)

How are sense pleasures shunned by a wise man?

The pleasures which are born of sense-contacts are verily the sources of pain. They have a beginning and an end. Therefore a wise man does not indulge in them.(21)

What is the speciality of such a man who does not indulge in these sensual pleasures?

He, who is able to resist the impulses of desire and anger, before he quits the body, is happy and is a Yogi and he is a man viz., he is brave.(22)

What happens to such a Yogi?

Such a man free from desire and anger attains the bliss of God. lie takes delight in Him and his knowledge ever remains illumined. Such a striver identified with Brahma attains Brahma Who is all peace.(23)

Who else attains such Brahma?

Those who have controlled their body, senses, mind and intellect, who are engrossed in the welfare of all beings, whose doubts have been dispelled and whose all sins have been washed away—such wise strivers attain the Beatitude of Brahma.(24)
