Out of the three kinds of action, which one is Sattvika? The action which is performed without the sense of doership, without passion or prejudice by one not desirous of the fruit, is said to be Sattvika.(23) Which is Rajasika action? The action which is performed by one craving for desire or with egoism or with much effort, is to be Rajasika.(24) What is Tamasika action? The action which is undertaken from delusion, without considering the result, loss, injury and one's own capacity, is declared to be Tamasika.(25) O Lord, who is a Sattvika agent (doer)? The doer who is free from attachment, non-egoistic; endowed with firmness and vigour and unaffected by success or failure is called Sattvika.(26) |
