Gita 17:15

Gita Chapter-17 Verse-15 प्रसंग- अब वाणी संबंधी तप का स्वरूप बतलाते हैं अनुद्वेगकरं वाक्यं सत्यं प्रियहिंत च यत् । स्वाध्यायाभ्यसनं चैव वाङ्मयं तप उच्यते ।।15।। जो उद्वेग न करने वाला, प्रिय और हितकारक एवं यथार्थ भाषण है तथा जो वेद-शास्त्रों के पठन का एवं परमेश्वर के नाम जपने का अभ्यास है- वही वाणी संबंधी तप कहा जाता है ।।15।। Words which cause no annoyance to others and are truthful, agreeable and wholesome, as well as the study of the Vedas and other Sastras and the practice of repetition of the Divine Name—this is known as the austerity of speech.(15)
