tathaiva yamuna sakshad
yuthi-bhutva samayayau
nilambara ratna-bhusha
shyama kamala-locana[1]


Then the Yamuna became a dark-complexioned, lotus-eyed, dressed in blue and decorated with jewels leader of a group of gopis, and came there.
