minan su-duhkhitan drishöva
duhkha-ha dina-vatsalah
tasmai shapam dadau kruddhah
shaubharir muni-sattamah[1]

Seeing the fish stricken with grief, the great sage Shaurabhi Muni, who was kind to the suffering and eager to stop their troubles, became angry and cursed Garuda.
