The Yog of Meditation

तत्र तं बुद्धिसंयोगं लभते पौर्वदेहकिम्।
यतते च ततो भूय: संसिद्धौ कुरुनन्दन ॥43॥

[ “He naturally bears with him into his new birth the noble impressions (sanskar) of yog from his previous existence, and by dint of this he strives well for perfection (that comes from the realization of God).’’ ]

The merits he had earned in his previous body are spontaneously restored to him in his new birth, by virtue of which he sets out to achieve the ultimate excellence, that is God.
